Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers in males. It involves cancer of the organ called the prostate. Screening with PSA is one of the most important methods to screen for prostate cancer. PSA stands for prostate-specific antigen and is a tool that is used to not only screen for prostate cancer but also to see whether prostate cancer is developing.
Here at Zucker & Regev, we have handled a number of prostate cancer-related cases. What we often see is that there are increases in prostate-specific antigen, PSA levels that are not being properly managed by healthcare providers. And those lead to a delay in diagnosing those cancers, and therefore, they affect the prognosis of those patients. What we have also seen is that sometimes healthcare providers fail to have the proper discussions with patients regarding proper screening methods, which may result in the failure to properly screen those patients.
